At age 99, Ruth Williams finished writing down her story - - a story she hopes will inspire readers to rise above and challenge any circumstances of life. As part of a poor, itinerant family from Oklahoma in the early 1900s, she talks of experiences that shaped and prepared her to meet the Lord Jesus Christ who completely changed her "prairie chicken" self-image to that of a soaring eagle. In our culture where the family is struggling to survive, Ruth shows her passion for the Christian home and for "keeping the home fires burning." Her book is a collage of tender, personal stories and practical ideas on how the home can be a place of warmth, growth, love and encouragement. Expect to be inspired by a look from way back - - that provides guidance and hope for the future through "the warmth of home." Shortly after publishing this book (2015), Ruth joined her husband, Sherman Williams, Jr. in the presence their Savior, Jesus Christ. They had lived in Castro Valley, CA since 1961 when they became the Senior Pastor couple of Redwood Chapel Community Church. They have four children, 12 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
