I think this book is my favorite of the Lone Star Burn series. Ms. Cardello takes the fake fiancé trope and gives it a country spin, adding angst and humor along the way. I listened and read this book and loved it in both formats. What happens when a twenty-five-year old virgin meets the ultimate political playboy? He meets Chelle and besides finding her beautiful and sexy, he is introduced to her fiery temper, which intrigues him more than he wants to believe.What follows is a sensual tale of the awakening of Chelle's inner vixen and Mason's hardened heart. Needing to clean up his image he asks Chelle for a favor: a fake engagement. The couple takes a long and interesting road to their HEA, irritating family and friends and nearly imploding their relationship because Mason finds himself unwilling to allow himself the happiness that has eluded him his entire life.Mason is my favorite male character in this series, so far. He's fun and flirty, naughty and sexy, and downright irresistible. I look forward to the next book in this series because Ms. Cardello pulls out all the stops developing her characters and weaving stories that stay with you long after the book is done.
