This book is a collection of letters that were written by a young soldier, to his Mother during World War, II. He was a young man raised in the tiny town of Big Timber Montana. He was far away from all he had ever known and loved his entire life. As a young soldier he was thrust into a violent, foreign environment. The letters start in Texas in 1943 and end after the Battle of the Bulge in Germany 1945. Through it all he was so very tender with his mom, and so young and vulnerable himself. In all of his letters he constantly re-assured his mother that he was doing just fine. In that respect he was very thoughtful and grown up.
